Hello Sweeties,
In the many hours I’ve spent doom-scrolling on Instagram while trapped under my napping Badger I discovered a lot of people are doing a book buying an in 2024. Some are doing it to spend less money, a few are trying to downsize the number of things in their homes, and then there are the hopefuls that plan to read their TBR before they buy anything new.
Personally, I’ll probably be buying fewer books cause I have to spend all my pennies on diapers. But you know what? I have an awesome network of indie authors that I talk to and just about everyone of them has a free book.
Know what that means for us? I’ll share the link for a freebie from a PNR author every month. Feel free to tag it on socials as a freebie if you happen to be on a book ban. Then again you can tag it anywhere you want if you like it.
Check your emails on the first Friday of every month for that month’s freebie. Let me know below if you want me to start a chat in Substack where we can have a running commentary on the book as we go. Yes there probably will be spoilers, but don’t you want to chat with people about the book you are reading? I know there is a limit to the amount of book talk Hubby will put up with, and my cats act like they are listening but I know they are thinking about treats.
First up is London Kemaker. We’ve chatted briefly in forums for the next Booktober anthology. I haven’t read any of their works yet, but if the reviews on Goodreads are anything to go by it’s gonna be good.
Maxim is an army soldier on a secret mission. The details are need-to-know, and the rumors are weird, but Maxim knows his place is right at the front. He’s confident in his gun and his squad. He doesn’t need anything else.
Carn’ge is a Drakkon, an alien dragon in service to his Queen and her fated mate. They’ve come to investigate a demon infestation on this planet, nothing more. The task should be straightforward, until Maxim and his squad stumble into everything.
The human Maxim is Carn’ge’s fated mate, he can feel it in his soul. Suddenly the demons are the last thing Carn’ge cares about. All he can think of is claiming his mate and binding their souls together as one. Heartfire will burn anything, but if Maxim is his true mate, it will forge them both anew.
After confronting a demon, Maxim is willing to take alien dragons in stride, especially if the one called Carn’ge will touch him again. He feels deeply drawn to the Drakkon and doesn’t want to resist. Maxim had no idea first contact could be so explosive.
xo,
This book sounds 🔥 Heart you, beautiful writing mamma. You enjoy that snuggle and reading time with your badger. 🥰🌈🥰
Thank you for the opportunity to spend less! I have found so many new favorite authors from the Booktober Anthologies, I’ll definitely have to pick this one up!
