I’m so excited to finally get to publication day for Ember. For those of you just as excited as I am here is a little preview of the hilarious romance coming your way.
Prologue
Ember
I peeled the wrapper from my cupcake while I stared at the envelope on the counter. Normally I’d rip open mail while standing over the kitchen trash can at home. Only this wasn’t a normal letter, nor was I in the tiny bedroom I referred to as home in the lodge's attic. Nope. I was in the middle of the resort’s kitchen surrounded by drones who did whatever the chef told them, staring at a letter from my Aunt Bess.
I tossed the wrapper on the counter next to me and took a bite of the cake. It was a flavorless collection of flour, sugar and butter I was forced to make for the guests, but it was better than nothing. I watched snow fall through the small window above the back door and thought about the warm weather Bess would still be enjoying on the Georgia coast. It never snowed in Peach Licker. Hurricanes? Yes. Snow? Nope.
I nearly dropped my cupcake when a nasally voice asked, “You plan on opening that any time soon?”
The last thing I needed today was Brad. I checked the schedule in the morning and he definitely wasn’t on it. The only reason for him to be lurking in the kitchen on his day off was me.
Lucky, lucky me.
